Alcohol is one of the most widely used psychoactive substances. People with alcohol dependence have 21% higher risk of sleep disorders. Besides, sleep disorders like somnolence, fatigue, and depression are three times more frequent and more severe among alcoholics. Drinking alcohol before bedtime, can cause insomnia and frequent waking ups, may determinate higher respiratory problems, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, bother nightmares, snoring.
