Reverse innovation: a significant perspective for the Baltic medium and large enterprises

Abstract

Innovation performance of the Baltic countries (BC) has shown stable performance in recent years and it is still behind European Union (EU) average. The most important evidence of this approach is the results of European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS). This paper presents “Reverse Innovation” as ignition power for BC`s medium and large firms and in this context, higher innovation performance for BC among EU countries. Furthermore, this paper examines factual results of reverse innovation in different cases in order to present significant background for understanding of medium and large Baltic enterprises. Through analysis of the statistics from the EIS and various practical cases of reverse innovation, the paper tries to emphasize on the importance of reverse innovation for medium and large firms in BC.

Изучение инновационных показателей стран Балтии (CБ) показало стабильные результа-ты в последние годы, но по-прежнему они отстают от среднего значения этих показателей Европейско-го союза (ЕС). Важнейшим доказательством этого вывода является информация Европейского инова-ционного табло (ЕИТ). В этом документе представлены «Обратные инновации» как сила развития для средних и крупных фирм CБ, и в этом контексте более низкие инновационные показатели для CБ среди стран ЕС. Кроме того, в этом документе рассматриваются фактические результаты обратных иннова-ций в разных случаях, чтобы позволяет представить значительный опыт для понимания ситуаций в средних и крупных предприятиях CБ. Благодаря анализу статистики из ЕИТ и различным практическим случаев обратных инноваций, в настоящей статье делается попытка раскрыть важность обратных ин-новаций для средних и крупных фирм в СБ.
