Concentrated solar power (CSP) technologies are becoming attractive in more and more countries for the production of electricity and other applications. Currently, the investment costs of CSP technologies are higher than traditional power plants, so a potential way to improve their commercial competitiveness could be the proper integration of CSP systems with other energy sources such as natural gas. This integration process, also known as “Hybridization,” can increase the economic value of the energy produced and help with the transition to “solar-only” power plants in the near future. To support a comparative assessment of the available solutions we suggest the development and application of a multicriteria algorithm. In this paper an intuitionistic fuzzy multicriteria approach combined with fuzzy entropy will be specifically proposed to rank different solar-hybrid power plants.
