Abstract

Necessary is a determine the main differences in the process of deterioration between freight and passenger locomotives and the respective differences in the strategies of their renewal. The second goal is to develop mathematical models to evaluate technical and economical criteria describing the deterioration of freight and passenger locomotives. This would enable us to predict the operation period of particular rolling stocks.
