Tendencies of locomotive engine lubricant quality change during exploitation period
Abstract
The aim of presented paper is to present further experimental investigation of properties of lubricants in locomotive diesels. Performed research is focused to prolong effective use of lubricants in diesel locomotive engines and flexibly detect real lubricant lifetime. There are given comparison of polluted oil particles in crankcase and oil filter of two-stroke engines and from crankcase of four-stroke engines. Research of pollution particles was performed using original method of microscopy and chemical analysis. Results of further experimental investigation of lubricant samples are presented. There are described equipment for investigation and explained methodology. Finally, results and explanations are presented as well as conclusions.
