In Lithuania, as all overthe world, the number of town residents is growing up. Demands of people are also rising. By supplying them, all facilities are developing. This is one of the strongest factors making a city or town a high-powered centre. And the power of a town-centre like this is creating an urban fluence zone. The law of Lithuanian territory planning gives the concept of an urban influence zone. But this concept is controversial. There are two main opinions: the first one is that an urban influence zone can be equated to a suburb, the other one – it can contain a territory like region. Developing the second idea, communication system, relationships of work, economy and culture are analysed for evaluating an urban influence zone.eng
