Kamajų miestelio plėtros perspektyvos

Abstract

Analysing Kamajai town we found some significant problems which stopped fluent town's development. Firstly, the central square with a transit road is not utilized. According to this problem, we proposse to build a bypasss road or redesign the main square and use mainly non-motorized transport which is safer for people. The central part is developed with regard to the history of the town. The main square should maintain its historic form with the help of trees and buildings. The church towers must be reconstructed, as the church is the pride of Kamajai. The central part is designed in the way to make it more attractive for tourists. Secondly, there are too few working places, and economy does not grow up. That is why we analysed deeper the town's economic structure and recommended to renew agricultural farms. Moreover, the Šetekšna river flowing through the old town is abandoned and unemployed. It would be good to integrate it into the town's life. Therefore, we also developed a system of green spaces. This place will become more attractive. We tried to make Kamajai more comfortable and functional with as low expenses as possible.
