Price level changes of the key consumption product groups
Abstract
Price indexes or inflation indicate general price level changes. Changes of prices of particular products may considerably differ from average. The opinion exists in scientific and social discussions that actual inflation and actual changes of price level are much bigger than those indicated by the official statistics. While calculating general price level actual change of prices for consumer is purportedly hidden beyond prices of rarely used goods and services. The article seeks to reveal dynamic of changes in price level of those products which are bought and consumed really frequently by every person and/or costs which comprise the most part of total expenditures of household. Computed price indexes of key consumer product groups (subgroups) showed significant difference form the general CPI (HICP). Growth in prices that really touches the statistical consumer much bigger than official statistics announces and it reaches masses.
