Abstract
An investigation of sustainable development of towns and a forecast of foreign investments deals with incomplete information from a broad variety of data sources and a complex structure of interdependencies of rapidly changing situations. The paper describes an approach of multiple statistical analyses for recognition of the important factors and information patterns that have a distinct relationship with foreign investments. The proposed multiple regression models allow us to ascertain the favorable conditions for attracting foreign investments gaining new insights into the structure of the problem and developing strategies for cohesive development of towns. A system of town ranks was established. According to these rankings favorable conditions for direct foreign investment may to be determinate, for each analyzed town.
