Mūšos baseino upių vandens taršos fosforu analizė taikant FYRIS modelį
Abstract
The quality of water in rivers depends on many hydrological and anthropogenic factors. The Musa catchment with 63 % of the territory under arable land, belonging to the Lielupe river basin district (RBD) in the northern part of Lithuania, was chosen for water quality investigation. A conceptual FYRIS model was chosen to identify the impact of the sources of pollution with total phosphorus (P) in the Musa river. The modelling encompasses the period of 1997–2006. Having preformed calibration the model efficiency coefficient was E = 0,49, which was fairly good, and correlation coefficient was r = 0,71. During the analysed period about 424 t of total phosphorus (P) were leached into the Musa catchment from waste water treatment plants (WWTP), households and urban territories, 310 t – from arable land, 95 t – from wooded territories and 31t – from pastures. Analysis of total phosphorus load into the Musa catchment from different pollution sources has established that about 49 % of it come from waste water treatment plants (WWTP), households and urban territories, 36% – enter from arable land and only 15 % of all phosphorus within the catchment come from wooded territories and pastures.
