6-th AECEF symposium on Civil engineering education in changing Europe
Abstract
The 6th AECEF Symposium is concentrated on the challenges of civil engineering education in changing Europe. The three sub-themes were covered during the Symposium: 1) New trends in teaching and learning in civil engineering (innovation in teaching methodology; modern information technology for the development of the civil engineering education; e-learning, distance and lifelong learning in civil engineering; enhancing sustainable development in the curriculum: conserving energy and resources); 2) New trends in recognition of professional qualifications in civil engineering in EU (civil engineering education in Europe after implementation of Bologna process; double-degrees, joint-degrees, and cooperative-exchanges between civil engineering faculties in Europe, the recognition of professional qualifications in civil engineering in EU); 3) Networking in civil engineering research (emerging and main fields of research in civil engineering for the 21st century; impact of Frameworks 6 and 7 to research in civil engineering; higher education, research and business cooperation under the vision and research agenda of European construction technology platform and EU Framework programmes; enhancing research training in universities).
