While studying the dynamic properties of freight wagons, usually the modes of motion of wagons both, loaded and empty, i.e. in marginal states, when the wagon mass corresponds to the maximum freight mass including the tare mass, and only tare mass, are investigated. Operated on the mainline railways, semi-wagons may be loaded with different goods. Goods transported in semi-wagons may essentially differ in terms of their density, as a result whereof semi-wagons loaded up to the full carrying capacity have different heights of centre of mass. This fact has an effect on the dynamics of semi-wagon. Meanwhile average deviations of wear and tear indicators of semi-wagon with “light-weight” freight are much better than of semi-wagons with “heavy-weight” freight.
