Vandenų dinamika Klaipėdos sąsiauryje
Abstract
The Klaipeda Strait connects the Kurshiu Marios Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Every year about 23 km3 of fresh water flow to the Baltic Sea and storm winds of W, NW, N, NE directions drive some 5 km3 of salty water from the Baltic Sea to the lagoon. This water returns into the Baltic Sea when a storm calms down. The water in the lagoon gets fresh again. The water outcoming from the lagoon is rich saturated with a lot of different pollutants. They supplement other pollutants from the sewage of Klaipeda and the disharge of enterprises. The main problem is to protect the water-suply area from the polluted and salty water. It’s a pity that sewerage waters after their mechanical treatment are let out near the water source of Klaipeda town. The water treatment area is near Malku Bay which is the most polluted place in the whole Kurshiu Marios Lagoon. It’s necessary to change the olace of the sewage water outlet for improwing this situation.
