Abstract
The article investigates the tendency of the increase of speed of passenger trains in foreign countries as well as the possibilities to implant such practice in Lithuania. It is focused on the parameters of the railway plan elements as well as the laying-out of the stations in the railway line. The method of traction numeration is used for the investigation of the reserves of the railway line permitting to increase the speeds of passenger trains up to 160 km/h. [...].
