On some peculiarities of radionuclide 137Cs behaviour in the southeastern area of the Baltic sea in 1995-1998
Santrauka
The measured values of volume activity (VA) of radionuclide 137Cs in the surface and deep waters of the southeastern area of the Baltic Sea during 10 cruises of the vessel “Vėjas” in 1995-1998 are analysed. The average value of this radionuclide in the surface waters was 71 Bq/m3. In the deep waters an increase of radionuclide 137Cs VA was observed. In the coastal waters (Juodkrantė) in the summer of 1995 during a long-term action of a continues northern wind an intensive increase of radionuclide 137Cs VA was registered. After the wind direction change the VA values sharply decreased. A temporary deviation from an average value of radionuclide 137Cs VA is possible in various hydrometeorological situations.
