The development of new advantageous refractory materials with required properties, obtained due to the additive of oil refinery waste catalyst, could give ecological and economical benefit. In this work the influence of fluidized bed catalytic cracking catalyst on alumina cement based castables' properties are investigated as well as structure of castable's binder are analyzed. The investigation shows, that the additive of waste catalyst improves conventional and MCC-type castable'sr heological characteristics, accelerate hydration and increase cold crushing strength after the hardening. After firing at 1200 C temperature the amount of additive must be selected carefully, because with increase of waste catalyst mechanical characteristics of castable decreased.
