Abstract
The aim of this article is to carry out analysis of bicycle movement safety in Lithuania during the last twenty years. A great variety of investigations concerning inhabitants mobility have been conducted in major cities and towns of Lithuania. The final researche results are shown in the presented tables. Pedestrians and bicyclists are two categories of traffic participents which are harmful to us from the point of view of ecology. The use of bicycles and barriers for their development in the city of Kaunas are set out in this article. The special investigation of bicycle usage is represented and compared with questioning data of different Lithuanian cities and towns inhabitants. The main problems of bicycle movement safety are: bicycle paths and roads, movement on cross-roads, control means, etc. First time Biotransport Act (project) is characterised.
