Abstract
Expediency of use of phosphorgypsum dehydrate i road construction is reviewed. The analysed subject is directly connected with solving problems of environment: engineering. Two possibilities utilizing phosphorgypsum dehydrate from Kedainiai Chemical Plant in road construction are thoroughly analysed. The first possibility to utilize phosphorgypsum dehydrate for reinforcing mineral binding materials used for road pavement base. The second possibility is to use it in the manufacture of activated mineral powder for asphalt mixes. The feasibility of application of the both technologies in Lithuanian road construction is discussed. Detailed recommendations for the application of the mentioned technologies are base on the local hydrologic, climatic and soil conditions. The given results of experimental tests show that thermally treated initial phosphorgypsum dehydrate which in the process of heating turns into phosphorgypsum semihydrate on adding to mix 10 percent of lime becomes a mineral binding material suitable for reinforcing road pavement base mineral materials (tables 2 and 3, figures 2 and 3 with 20 percent lime addition, it becomes a low activity powder that can replace the activated mineral powder in fine-grained hot asphalt mixes (table 4, figures 4 and 5).
