Investigation of biological treatment of Vilnius' wastewater

Abstract

Investigation was carried out by using experimental acrotank. During the experiment there was changed yield of wastewater and concentration of active sludge from 1 to 4 g/I for dry materials. Load of active sludge was held from 50 to 300 mg BOD-5 for 1 gramm of active sludge dry materials per day. The following relationships were determined: load of active sludge to concentration of BOD-5 in treated wastewater; load of active sludge to sludge index; load of active sludge to nitrogen and phosphorus demand.
