2008 m. Įvertinus vandens kokybę nustatyta, kad intensyviai ūkininkaujant polderyje biogeninių medžiagų išplovos i Klaipėdos kanalą neviršija leistinųjų ribų. In 2008 under the order of Ministry of Agriculture following the programme „Modernization and Rational Exploitation of Land Reclamation Systems“ scientists of Water Research institute at the faculty of Water and Land Management, Lithuanian University of Agriculture, prepared the possibility study „Evaluation of Technical Condition of Bruksva polder in Klaipeda district and Preparation of Recommendations for the Polder Suitability for Agricultural Production Development“. This article analyzes the problems, caused by intensive use of the polder, which borders on the environmentally protected territories. The completed research has established that surplus water that outflows from the neighbouring protected territory (Svencele bog) influences the water regime in the polder. The paper discusses possibilities to increase the polder area protection from flooding by the equipment of extra hydrotechnical constructions and considering the "Natura 2000" territory status. The water quality evaluation has established that in the case of intensive farming in the polder territory, the leaching of biogenic materials to the Klaipeda channel does not exceed the permissible norms.
