Influence of concrete stress state on carbonation depth
Abstract
In order to consider the influence of concrete stress state on carbonation depth, a stress influence coefficient was added to the concrete carbonation depth model. By referring to the existing experimental data in literatures, the law between stress influence coefficient and concrete stress ratio was investigated in detail, and equations relating the stress influence coefficient to the concrete stress ratio were established. Compared with three typical existing groups of equations, it is found that the proposed equations of the stress influence coefficient are more reasonable and have high prediction accuracy. At last, the stress influence coefficient in the standard were evaluated. The results show that the computed results of stress influence coefficient are underestimated under concrete tensile stress state. On the contrary, the computed results are overestimated under concrete compressive stress state. Hence, the equations from the present research can be adopted as the modified formula for stress influence coefficient in the standard.
