The possibilities to evaluate sustainability are essential for sustainable development. In this article some theoretical concepts, essential for the evaluation of the sustainability are analysed. As the objectives for this the content of concepts of strong comparability and commensurability and strong and weak sustainability are critically investigated. First, the essence of the sustainability concept is not widely discussed. The role of strong comparability and commensurability concepts in evaluation of sustainability is analysed. Moreover, the role of a capital factor in strong and weak sustainability concepts is presented. Galimybės įvertinti darnumą yra esminės įgyvendinant darnaus vystymosi koncepciją. Šiame straipsnyje nagrinėjamos svarbios teorinės darnumo įvertinimo koncepcijos. Pirmiausia trumpai aptarta darnumo koncepcijos esmė.
