Abstract
Tribological properties of a mineral engine lubricant with liquid crystal additives are analyzed in the article. Regression equations describing the friction process of a steel friction pair being lubricated with a mineral engine lubricant with and without cholesteric liquid crystal additives are presented. Dependence of the friction zone temperature on the contact pressure of contacting bodies, concentration of liquid crystals in the lubricant and surface roughness of contacting bodies is established.
