Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to find effective measures for modernising railway construction to ensure high-speed traffic. In the paper investigations of a railroad roadbed performed before modernisation of some railway lines in Poland with an analysis of deflection research outcomes done statistically for the roadbed state evaluation, are presented. A concept of the roadbed strengthening and design methodology is given. Reconstruction effects are characterised by checking measurement data sets from selected stretches of the reconstructed line with roadbed parameters non-homogeneity analysis.
