The shock tube diaphragm is the key element of the laboratory equipment, used to generate shock waves. Despite its usefulness, the diaphragm causes difficulties because it affects the shock wave formation in shock fubes. The behaviour of the diaphragm during its rupture is a non-conservative process. A model which accurately describes the steps required to determine the pressure of the diaphragm during the static rupture is suggested. It may be applied to simulate the dynamics of the diaphragm rupture under real falling pressure.eng
