Abstract
Search for new filtering materials used in other economy branches to remove solid particles (dust, aerosols) from air, is in progress. Experimental investigation of filter foam plastics intended for air filtering, their regeneration capabilities and determination of the class such filters belong to are described in this paper. Based on the Lithuanian Standard (LST EN 779/AC:1993), the test-bench equipment was designed and manufactured, methods for the measurement of air flow, pollution, the parameters of filtering materials were selected and developed. The following parameters of air flow in airducts of experimental equipment were measured: flow velocity, pressure, temperature and humidity. When evaluating air-flow pollution level, mass concentration and concentration in ppm were measured, and the aerodynamic resistance of filtering materials was determined. The results obtained show the highest retaining efficiency is equal to 86,75 % and the lowest one – to 67,42 %. Regeneration efficiency reaches up to 87,0 %. Experimental results obtained show that most materials belong to the Class G3 (based on the standard LST EN 779/AC:1993).
