Abstract
With increasing globalisation and everyday life competition the decrease of public budgets for education and changing socio-economic environment universities are facing a complex challenge from environment. At different forums, conferences and meetings universities receive more and more complaints about the expertise of the graduates. Very often dissatisfaction is expressed due to the lack of so-called “soft skills”, but not due to the lack of professional knowledge. Employers require new qualities from university graduates: entrepreneurship, communication skills, leadership, organisation abilities, knowledge of ICT technologies, proficiency in several foreign languages, etc. New challenges require a modern approach in the organization of study programmes. The university is trying to respond to these demands by revising the curricula, by widening of international students mobility. But not all people at universities are in favour of internationalisation and wide mobility, because under certain circumstances it can mean lowering of academic quality, devaluation of national language, etc. The analysis of students survey showed that students rank whatever international (SOCRATES/ERASMUS , LEONARDO da VINCI, Work and Travel; Internship/Traineeship, etc.) experience very positively, because such experience cannot be achieved at university and it efectively complements scientific knowledge.
