Abstract
A new approach to the expression of the results of measurement carried out is presented in the article. The task is to evaluate the information required on measuring multivalued objects by assessing systematic and random errors as usual, and including the information entropy of measurement, i.e. indicating the quantity of measurement information that was evaluated from the total accessible information. Although many authors have discussed the task of uncertainty monitoring and sampling, there is no general approach given to solve this task. Some ideas have been expressed in this work to include the sampling procedure into the equation for the measurand. It is especially important bearing in mind modern information-measuring systems, consisting as they do of smart transducers that can combine a wide range of data or measurement values reaching tens of thousands of numerical values (e.g. from a laser interferometer). This is also important in view of traceability of the measurement as it can clearly indicate which part of the information was assessed during the measurement.
