Integration of LEAN in construction processes

Abstract
The productivity of the construction sector worldwide has fallen over the past 30 years. The main principles to improve the situation is using lean construction. Lean construction concepts are effective in a strategic approach to accomplish improvement in reducing waste, expenses and time, which resulted in many positive out comes, such as environment, economic and time saving. Although lean practice are capable of attaining significant environmental, times saving, economical benefits. Organizations still experiencing difficulty to integrate the concepts successfully and correct. There are many research in literature that indicates the construction industry have encountered poor implementation and integration of this concepts. Lean construction have eight main techniques that increasing productivity in fulfilling the client's requirements of the construction industry. This paper provided the fundamental knowledge of Lean construction, lean is the key requirement to gain construction productivity. This paper shows how to get most effective results by applying Last Planner System technique. The case study of this paper is the integration of Last Planner System technique into project.
