Abstract
Vieno iš svarbiausių pasaulyje tvarios architektūros ir statybos apdovanojimų „Holcim inovacijos 2012“ garbės lentoje – ir lietuvio architekto Povilo Čepaičio pavardė. Vilniaus Gedimino technikos universiteto (VGTU) absolventas antrąsias magistrantūros studijas pasirinko Architektūros asociacijos architektūros mokykloje (Architectural Association School of Architecture) Londone. Vis dėlto įgytas žinias, ambicijas ir inovatyvias idėjas architektas tikisi realizuoti Lietuvoje. The name of a Lithuanian architect Povilas Čepaitis is among the laureates of the most significant global awards on sustainable architecture and construction “Holcim innovation prize 2012“. The graduate of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University chose the second Master’s studies at Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. Nevertheless, the architect is going to realize the knowledge, ambitions and innovative ideas gained in Lithuania. According to Povilas Čepaitis, architectural studies at Architectural Association School of Architecture, like in most other architectural schools in England, are much more of theoretical and artistic nature than in Lithuania. “If I compare myself to my study colleagues from different countries, I can certainly state that my studies at VGTU are much like at a strong technical university in Germany or Spain”, says VGTU graduate gladly whose prestigious award was achieved by an ability to work in a team and long-lasting creative discussions. “In our studio, the atmosphere is very democratic. Essentially, this atmosphere is common in large part of collectives in England. The relationship which takes the form of an artist and his apprentice still exists only in some countries of Southern Europe, e.g. Portugal or Italy”, says young architect.
