Applicability of time average laser holography for stochastic vibrations

Abstract

It is shown that time average holography has a limited applicability for stochastic vibrations. The absense of interference patterns does not necessarily mean the malfunction of the optical measurement scheme. That effect can be caused by the stochastic response of a non-linear structure to external excitation.
