E-government development in Lithuania

Abstract

Nowadays people can not imagine their life without informational technologies and telecommunications, which give opportunity to improve the efficiency of puhlic services, secure transparency of state institutions' activity, feedback and new quality of services. In December 2002 the Lithuanian Government approved e-Governmcnt Concept The objective of e-Goveramenl Concept is to develope effective means that will allow adapting public administration to modern needs. The paper analyses implementation of e-services in Lithuania and evaluates the situation of the national e-government.
