| dc.description.abstract | The demand for fossil fuel continues to increase with economic and mobility growth and development. Consumer acceptance to electric vehicles (EV) remains low. EV break point is at a range of around 80-120 kilometres. In the popular there is a sense that such vehicles are not an adequate replacement for traditional internal combustion engines powered vehicles. In an effort to explain user needs on performance and reliability o EV this paper present results of research into user behaviour to evaluate demand for technical parameters of electric vehicles. Survey of users of selected light-duty vehicles was made in Lithuania in 2012 by authors of article. The average rate of driving distance a day in different areas is presented in article. Special attention is focused on attitudes of governmental ad business sector on electric vehicles as alternative on conventional light-duty vehicles. The features when buying car is also analysed. Obstacles to the electric vehicles of use and tools that could accelerate market share growth of electric vehicle are ranked by respondents and also presented in the article. | eng |
