dc.description.abstractDesign codes prescribe extreme thermal actions values called charactersitic values defined on a return period of 50 years. This paper presents the results of statistical analysis on data collected over fourty years period in Vilnius, Lithuania. The parameters of the local meteorological regime which critically affect the extreme thermal effects are presented. Their variation in time is analized and related to the thermal loading parameters in all type bridges. The analysis of the extreme values of these parameters is described in details.eng
