Personenbeförderung in Litauen
Abstract
Since achieving independence, dramatic changes have taken place in Lithuania's transport system. The state railway LG (Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai) has been reorganizes as a private enterprise that controls its own finances, and is responsible for its infrastructure and operations. Crowing mobility in general and individual persons' travel by car have created considerable competition, and notably so from public transport by road. Lithuanian Railways will have to aim special efforts at improving its infrastructure, organizational set-up and operations. Possible solutions are listed.
