| dc.description.abstract | Noise pollution is unwanted human-created sound that disrupts the environment. The dominant form of noise pollution is from transportation sources, principally motor vehicles, aircraft noise and rail transport noise, Other diverse sources are factories, amplified music, air-conditioners, and construction work. A noise barrier is an exterior structure, normally made of masonry or earth, designed to protect sensitive land uses from noise pollution. Noise barriers are the most effective method of roadway noise mitigation or industrial noise sources. | eng |
