Abstract
The composition of coated layers was analyzed and compared to that estimated by analytical modelling. The obtained results allowed to estimate the peculiarities of alloying elements transfer into surfaced layer and to determine the influence of the chromium content on transfer of other alloying elements. The research of abrasive wear resistance of hard layers possessed different chromium concentrations have revealed that these layers, if compared to boron microalloyed steels (47 HRC) used in production of soil working parts, reduce the surface wear up to 5...6 times. The microstructure of hard layers is modified white cast iron, its hardness 58...60 HRC. When cooling the fractures, induced by high internal stresses, can emerge in the hard layers, therefore their thickness is limited to 3-5 mm. Therefore, the respective mechanical properties of the cladding or surfacing weld can be influenced by electrode coating composition.
