VGTU Tarybos pirmininkas: „Mano misija – garsinti inžinieriaus vardą“
Abstract
Sigitas Leonavicius, a graduate of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, has survived all his own business downfalls and lifts in the last two decades. Setting up his own business drastically, from a complete nothing, he is now happy with an emerging Lithuanian business culture and mature business – ‘Traidenis’ company, a leader in the field of water engineering technology. As a graduate of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, now already the Chairman of the University Board, Sigitas Leonavicius says that he has come back to his Alma Mater to stimulate young people to choose a profession of an engineer. ‘I systematically seek to promote a profession of an engineer. I want an engineer name to have its echo in a society. It should be something that would motivate people from kindergarten or school times. We have a very good potential, our youth is very creative, energetic and diligent. To some purpose our people are always shoveled abroad. We usually notice that only when it is valued by others. We must value that here and now,’ – the Chairman of the Board at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University states.
