Lietuvoje yra vietos doktorantams
Abstract
Lietuvoje yra vietos doktorantams. Tuo tvirtai įsitikinęs VGTU jaunasis mokslininkas Šarūnas Skuodis. Buvęs nacionalinės irkluotojų rinktinės narys, profesionalus sportininkas, o dabar – Geotechnikos katedros doktorantas savosios Alma Mater privalumus įvertino apsilankęs Europoje garsiame universitete. There is enough space for PhD students in Lithuania. Sarunas Skuodis, a young scholar at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is completely convinced about that. A former national rowing team member, a professional sportsman and now already a PhD student at the Department of Geotechnical Engineering has evaluated his Alma Mater advantages after visiting a famous University in Europe. ‘I’m sure that I don’t want to leave. Lithuania has favorable conditions to study. For their dissertations PhD students can have everything done here, they don’t need any traineeships abroad. However, traineeships, as a matter of fact, are a good choice because PhD students get acquainted with other study system, see how it works in reality and get some experience in work projects. When you come back from such traineeships, you’re trying to apply this to the University you’re studying at. It’s said that Rome is proud of Vatican; equally, our scholars can be proud of reinforced concrete, geotechnical and bridge equipment at the University. We definitely have especially modern equipment. Undoubtedly, there’s no need only to be proud, there’s also a need to work,’ – a former sportsman, now working in the field of geotechnical science says.
