There are manor heritage objects of the European-level in Lithuania. Within approximately forty kilometres in radius around Vilnius, one can find formerly luxury Manors of Lentvaris, Trakų Vokė and Užutrakis, once belonging to the Count Tiškevičiai family. Nevertheless, all the secrets of these estates will never be revealed, each of them having their own destiny. “It is very important, at all levels, to understand the uniqueness and special artistic value of Lentvaris Manor and its Park. Currently, a special plan has been approved, projecting frontiers, management regulations and protection zones of Lentvaris Manor, as a cultural heritage object, but in reality, for the responsible authorities, it is very difficult to settle the situation”, - about the unique Park of Lentvaris explains Vaiva Deveikienė, PhD at VGTU, specialist of landscape. The specialist is confident, that for handling historical parks, an appropriate method of landscape management should be selected and priorities defined. It is worth to reconstruct the essential Park images, to recreate spaces, as well as structural elements, instead of preserving every existing plant, if the area is not declared a natural reserve.
