Aukštojo mokslo kompasas: sėkmės krypties beieškant
Abstract
High-quality and internationally competitive higher education is the foundation of sustainable economic growth and welfare of every country; thus, it is not surprising that so many parties, including politicians, business representatives and the general public, are involved in the debate on the reform of higher education in Lithuania, and when we discuss the challenges to unleash our research potential, there is an abundance of arguments and emotions. According to Alfonsas Daniūnas, the Rector of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), while we are in search for solutions to our country, it would be beneficial to take a step back and remember an old saying Think global, act local. Our path to success should be chosen by looking at the global and European solutions to similar challenges and taking into account the context of Lithuania.
