Kaip užauginti inžinerijos Sabonį ar matematikos Grigorian?
Abstract
What do we need to keep up the pace of economic growth and advancement in Lithuania? Innovation is one of the key aspects. Unfortunately, in the annual European Innovation Scoreboard announced in June Lithuania was only on the 20th position. Our country is considered to be in the group of moderate innovators and is below the EU innovation average. Continuous success stories of Lithuanian start-ups might give other impression, but this ranking of Lithuania does not surprise the researchers. According to them, we are moving forward but the success of truly innovative country lies in nurturing talents of the future: educating professionals, who know the intricacies of the development and implementation of innovations, must be among the top priorities of the education system. The economy of our country is part of global markets and we must have a “critical mass” of professionals who are able to create higher value in Lithuania by using cutting edge technologies
