Abstract
The monograph is organized into four chapters. Chapter 1 is introductory in nature and sets the context of the research. It contains a literature review that provides a definition of “social media” and analyzes social media use in university studies, emerging changes in university studies and emerging educational approaches to integrating social media into university studies. Part of Chap. 1 is also devoted to practicing insights on technology and education, including social media use in university studies while applying a phenomenological approach. It embraces the philosophical background and phenomenological insights on education and technology. Chapter 2 is devoted to the research methodology. It explores the qualitative inductive research with its phenomenological approach and provides the methodology used in the research. Chapter 3 reports the research findings of the international qualitative inductive research with a phenomenological approach as the starting point of the research and the research findings of the in-depth qualitative inductive research with a phenomenological approach in home institutions. The multifaceted nature of the phenomenon of social media application in the university study process is extensively discussed. Conclusion brings the monograph to a close.
