| dc.description.abstract | In Lithuania expanded polystyrene slabs first of all are known as thermal insulating material. Through small density and good mechanical properties this material is used abroad in road construction. Studies on the use of expanded polystyrene as a lightweight embankment sub-base material began more than 30 years ago. The results of expanded polystyrene mechanical properties under short- and long term loading analysis are presented in this article. | eng |
