Abstract
Our conversation with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU) professor emeritus Raimundas Kirvaitis took place before the coronavirus pandemic has been confirmed and the quarantine has been announced. Nevertheless, his thoughts, that the true spirit of a university lies in relationships and live communication, remain pertinent and even more relevant than ever. It survived the time of Soviet stagnation and censorship, and, according to professor R. Kirvaitis, it will not be replaced by accelerating growth in technology. By the way, did you know that professor is the university’s record-holder – he celebrated 100 semesters of his courses? This interesting conversation is for you, if you are fascinated with history, key VGTU moments and interested in future prospects.
