Spartūs šiuolaikinio pasaulio kaitos bei globalizacijos tempai ir procesai vis labiau verčia žiūrėti į atsiradusias problemas kūrybiškai, priimti įvairialypius nestandartinius/kitokius/savotiškus sprendimus įvairiose sferose. Ypatingas dėmesys turėtų būti skirtas aukštojo mokslo sistemai, kuri yra svarbi kiekvienos visuomenės socialinės gerovės dalis, sudaranti sąlygas kokybiškai gyventi. Šiame straipsnyje apžvelgiama nuotolinio mokymosi svarba, išryškinami privalumai bei trūkumai ir pateikiami atlikto tyrimo rezultatai, atskleidžiant universiteto studentų požiūrį į nuotolines studijas. The rapid pace and processes of change and globalization of the modern world force us to look at the problems that have arisen a little differently and make non-standard/different/unique decisions in various spheres. Special attention should be paid to the higher education system, which is an important part of the social well-being of every society, creating conditions for a quality life. Students felt the importance and influence of distance learning on academic knowledge and the quality of studies the most, because they faced the challenges of distance learning while studying remotely, therefore the purpose of this article is to determine the importance of distance learning on study results from the students’ point of view based on theoretical analysis and empirical research. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: Examine the importance of distance studies; Identify the main factors of distance learning; Conduct an empirical investigation into distance learning from the students’ perspective. Such methods as literature analysis, synthesis, questionnaire survey were applied in the work, research conclusions were presented, revealing the attitude of university students to distance studies. The concepts of learning and teaching used in the article are the same and are not separated according to the participants in the teaching process. The concepts of study and teaching are the same.
