Abstract
To assess the impact of the changed factors of the performance of the cooling system during exploitation of the internal combustion engine upon the thermal deformations of the engine piston and cylinder as well as the impact of the said deformations upon the power of the engine as well as its economical and ecological indicators, also the noises generated by the engine. The following tasks had been set for pursuing the aim of the work: 1. To establish the properties of the layer of deposit formed in the cooling system and on the external surface of cooled cylinders of an internal combustion engine. 2. To carry out a research on thermal deformations of petrol engine, piston and cylinder and compare them for various thicknesses of the layer of deposit formed on the external surface of the cylinders during their exploitation. 3. To assess the impact of the deposit formed on the external surface of the cylinders of the engine during the exploitation on the size of the clearance between the piston and the cylinder. 4. To establish the impact of the size of the clearance between the piston and the cylinder on the power of the engine as well as its economical and ecological indicators. 5. To establish the impact of the size of the clearance between the piston and the cylinder on the noises generated by the engine.
