Abstract
At present time number of private cars in Lithuania have increased very much and transportation problems became more and more actually. One of these problems is rather increased delays at the intersections, especially in signalised, and as a result - increased fuel consumption, amount of exhaust gases, noise. Probably the cheapest and enough effective way to reduce these problems is to choose optimum cycle lengths and green phases according to existing traffic flows ( in isolated intersections ). As an example are given some intersections in Vilnius with the highest traffic flows and delays. After optimising computations using created PC software control is changing and obtaining significant economic effect.
