Abstract
The global pandemic situation has profoundly changed our teaching practice. In a time when schools and universities had to close down, foreign language teachers and students had to teach and learn languages online using modern technologies and collaboration. Online education has boomed rapidly, which also brings innovations to the field of foreign language teaching and learning, offering new possibilities and challenges. The aim of this study is to analyze the challenges and new opportunities that language teachers and university students face when teaching and learning languages online, as well as to work out effective methods that will enable language teachers and students to manage difficulties in language learning classrooms. Findings suggest that although there are some limitations to the online learning, there are also many aspects in which online language learning can be even more efficient than traditional classes.
