It was determined by investigations, that plasmic glass wool thermal resistance can be increased from 610°C to 1100°C in fiberous refractory products formed by the hydromass process using fire-clay as a binder. A liquid phase formation process takes place on the plasmic glass wool surface with an increase in burning temperature of such products. However, the glass wool fibers retain their form due to the fact that new growths are formed and cristobalite crystallizes from the chemical reaction of the liquid phase and fire-clay.
